How I Approach ADHD Treatment

My treatment philosophy for ADHD is rooted in compassion, collaboration, and evidence-based care. Here’s how I work with patients:

For Patients Without Prior Treatment

If you are experiencing symptoms such as poor focus and concentration but have not received treatment before, our first step will be to focus on behavioral changes. I believe in addressing underlying habits and lifestyle factors before considering medication. This approach ensures a comprehensive understanding of your needs and lays the groundwork for sustainable improvement.

Behavioral Change Strategies

Behavioral interventions can be extremely effective in managing ADHD symptoms. Some of the areas we may address together include:

  • Phone and Screen Detox: Reducing digital distractions to improve attention span

  • Improved Sleep Habits: Establishing routines that support better rest and mental clarity

  • Stress Management: Learning techniques to handle stress more effectively

  • Addressing Anxiety: Exploring and managing anxiety that may contribute to attention difficulties

  • Hormone Changes: Considering how age-related hormonal shifts can impact focus and mood

  • Day-to-Day Systems: Putting organizational systems in place to help manage daily tasks and responsibilities

By focusing on these behavioral changes, we can create a strong foundation for managing ADHD. Medication can be considered later, if needed, in collaboration with you and based on your progress and preferences.

Your journey with ADHD is unique, and my goal is to support you with empathy and practical strategies every step of the way.

For Patients with an Existing Diagnosis

If you already have an ADHD diagnosis and are currently prescribed medication, I am happy to continue your treatment and partner with you to explore additional strategies for success. Together, we will work on behavioral changes that can enhance your quality of life and support your long-term goals.
